Catalpa Tree - Likes & Dislikes

Let’s talk about likes and dislikes of Catalpa trees.

I “like” its heart—shaped giant leaves. They create cool shade in the summer.

I “like” its orchid-like flowers. They are simply beautiful.

I “like” its good adaptability. It thrives in any type of soil condition. 

I “dislike” when the leaves drop. It requires heavy work to pick them up in late fall.

I “dislike” when the flowers drop. It requires some cleanup in late spring.

I “dislike” the seeds. They grow everywhere around the tree.
